Based in Vertus, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Maison Duval-Leroy is today one of the most remarkable wine estates in Champagne, with a significant portion of its vineyards classified as Grand Crus and Premiers Crus.
The winery prioritizes using a very high percentage of grapes from its own vineyards, ensuring complete control over quality and the expression of the terroirs. This approach is based on modern, innovative precision viticulture, combining careful observation, cutting-edge technology, and respect for natural balances.
Chardonnay, the House’s signature grape variety, is at the heart of this excellence. Delicate and demanding, it reveals its full finesse on the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, the birthplace of Champagne’s greatest white wines. When vinified to perfection, it expresses elegance, tension, and aromatic complexity—the hallmark of Duval-Leroy’s cuvées and a reflection of the House’s unique identity.
A symbol of Duval-Leroy’s excellence, Clos des Bouveries is a historic 3.5-hectare vineyard in Vertus (Premier Cru), planted with Chardonnay. Made from vines over 60 years old, this cuvée reveals all the finesse and complexity of its terroir.
Discover the vintageA few years ago, my mother loved to plant her rosebushes in the Clos des Bouveries, nestled between the vineyards and the flowers. From the vineyard, you can see the school in Vertus, where we went to school, and she would often go up there to listen, from a distance, to the children’s laughter mingling with the scent of her flowers. Recognizing the potential of the terroir, my family planted the first Chardonnay vines there in 1962. After years of meticulous care, in 2002 we bottled the first vintage of Clos des Bouveries. Since then, each year, a new vintage continues this story of vines, flowers, and childhood memories.
